Bead and Button and Instagram Fun

 Hey, Hey!

I am buried in bead and buttons glazing. I leave in less than a week for Milwaukee! I can't believe it. This will be my tenth year exhibiting at the show. My baby who is now nine years old was a newborn...six weeks old. I don't recommend trying to do your first bead show when you baby is six weeks old. What was I thinking? Wither way it was a great success and look ten years later, I am still at it.

Let's do something fun today. I'm going to Instagram every hour today what I am working on. Maybe even more. If you follow me on twitter you can see all the photos. I'll #jangles so you can find them all. Plus, I got this nifty slideshow gadget on the side of my blog, you can see my images there as well. Oh... and you can see them on facebook too! Just posted my first pic now.

Hope to see you at Bead and Button...

Quilt Market Spring 2012

Hello, Hello,

I'm back from market and what a great trip it was. I couldn't have asked for a better show. I met a lot of great folks and we have some good stuff in the works. I took some instagrams of my booth and posted them through facebook and twitter. If you didn't see them, I took some photos with my other camera too. I wanted to get out and take other photos but it was just too busy.

Now that I am back I also promised a winner from the last post. I randomly pick a number using the number generator and it was number 1(that is totally random) ! Congrats Alicia!

Check out Otis here. He's painting and owl....hmm....could that be part of a new fabric line? Come back soon to find out.

Talk to you soon,
Jennifer

Quilt Market, Kansas City Here I Come!

Today is packing day! I am so ready to get everything in the car and take off. Got my fingers crossed that it all fits. If not we have a cargo box for the top and a cargo carrier for the back, one way or another it will make it to Kansas City.

As I write, I am waiting on one last kiln to cool down so I can get the rest of the buttons that I need. After I unload it I am heading over to the studio where Katie and I will be packing up button sets, packing, and loading the car.

If you're headed to Quilt Market, please stop by and say Hi. I will be in booth 1318, right across from In The Beginning Fabrics

While I am gone, I thought it would be fun to have a give-a-way. It's been awhile since I have done that. Leave me a comment in this post and you could be randomly chosen to win a half yard of each Jolly Holiday Fabric shown up at the top, plus both of my new sewing patterns, Okey Dokey Owl, and Lucy and Millie Mermaid, and the buttons shown on the picture above! Wow weee! What a prize. Tell your friends! I'll pick the winner next week, after market.

Good luck!

The Real Otis and Rhubarb

I have a sewing pattern called Otis and Rhubarb. Otis was named after my dog. I needed a girl name for a dog so we decided on Rhubarb.

You've seen Otis on the blog a few times before. He's who I talk to during the day when I am working in the studio by myself. I know...the glamorous life on an artist, right?

Nik and I went out on a date last Saturday night, we were out of Gerbil food so before we could begin the date we had to stop by the pet store. We happened upon a sweet little rescue dog that was up for adoption. After lots of discussion, I went back the next day and brought her home.

What did we name her? Rhubarb of course!

My To Do List

I am STILL getting ready for Quilt Market. Yesterday I put the booth together for one last time. I am happy with how it has turned out so I started packing it up. I will be driving this time so there's a lot to fit into the car. My fingers are crossed that it all fits.

I still have to sew one of these

 Three of these

 and one of these

Then my sewing will be complete. Now buttons for sample spree are a whole different story. Still have loads of those to glaze. :)

Have a great day,
Jennifer

New Sewing Patterns

I have two new sewing patterns! Okey Dokey Owl and Lucy and Millie Mermaid. I couldn't be happier with the way they turned out. I just got them up on the website this morning. If you're thinking, "Jennifer, some of those fabrics don't look familiar to me", well stay tuned, I'll let you know why soon. In the mean time you'll notice that Lucy at the top of the mermaid pattern is sewn in Tussie Mussie. I've sewn Okey Dokey Owl up in all sorts of colors and fabrics and he has turned out cute every time. One of these days when all of my quilt market sewing is finished I'll take some pictures.

While I am mentioning new things on the website, I have started making button kits. These kits contain all of the button embellishments needed for my patterns. You can find them on the same page as my patterns.

If you're a quilt shop you can also find the kits and all of the patterns through E.E. Schenck and Checker Distributors.

Back to sewing for me! Have a great day,
Jennifer

Week in Photos

Hello, Hello,

Things are chugging along here as I get ready for Quilt Market that is in 2 weeks! I have been sewing up a storm getting my booth ready. I have changed directions at least four times, but the last time I set it all up I didn't have the urge to change it all again. I took that as a good sign. Now it's down to sewing and there's a pretty good list of samples to sew still. And this might be stupid, but, I am saving the focal piece/sample until last.  It needs to be great and I haven't had the inspiration to sew it yet. Waiting on another sign I guess. Does anyone else operate this way?

Speaking of signs, operating, etc. those photos above are some of my instagrams from the week. It's super fun to snap a photo and post it. I so wish I could post it to my blog that way. I have my fingers crossed that they come up with that soon. For now though you can find them on the side bar of my blog. If I snap something I usually twitter it. Blogging has been hard for me lately but twitter has been loads of fun so that's where I've been.

Have a Happy Happy Friday!

Jennifer

Jolly Holiday

  Hello, Hello,

Yay! I get to finally show you Jolly Holiday! I am super excited about this one because you all know how much I like the holidays right? It has always been a dream of mine to have Christmas fabric. It is shipping to stores next month, eeek! I have my sample yardage now because I am sewing like a mad women for quilt market. It's two weeks away and there is still so much to sew.

Hope you like it!
